Isolate the Concepts to Teach using One or More Cue Cards.
Point to the pictures as you are saying those words. Model this for your child and encourage him/her to point to the pictures as well!
For Beginners! Start off small and work with one word/concept at a time and slowly build bigger messages. Model, Model, Model! Use the cards yourself to communicate first by pointing to key words WHILE you are speaking.
What is Core Vocabulary?
Core Vocabulary refers to the relatively small number of words (200-400) that make up 80% of what we say!
Targeting these words will help children communicate more effectively.
