Inspiration:
As a middle school teacher I want my students and their parents/guardians to feel enthusiastic about our year together. While it is important that I help my students increase their independence as learners, I find it is also essential to keep parents/guardians informed about the work we are doing in my ELA classroom. On the first day of school and at our “Meet the Teacher Night” I like to share my class syllabus. Within my syllabus I include:
• the learning that is taking place in my classroom
• my contact information
• Schoology info
• grading scale and policies
• assignments and assessments
• materials needed for success each day
Directions:
I have included a sample of the syllabi I utilize with my students. I've also created two additional editable versions so you can create a syllabus that works for your students, parents/guardians, administration, and YOU!
Steps:
1. Review the PDF instruction sheet for best practices.
2. Click on the EDITABLE PowerPoint file
3. Click in each text box (I have shared the fonts I use)
4. Add your course information
5. Print copies and share
